Our Directors

Mark and Laura Newfield have spent their entire lives in camping. Firm believers in the value of camping and what it does for children, Mark and Laura are hands-on and truly care about the experiences of each and every camper. From staff hiring to food service and from health care to cabin placement, Mark and Laura are involved in every aspect of your child's stay. Along with their daughter Sarah and son Matthew, Mark and Laura call Iroquois Springs home!

Brian Cohen

Our Associate Director

Brian Cohen grew up in Plainview, New York and attended Towson University where he received his bachelor’s degree in Public Relations and Advertising. His resident camp life began at the early age of 7 as the youngest camper in camp. Brian continued to attend camp and work his way through many different leadership positions including counselor, group leader, head counselor and currently the Associate Director. Brian has been working along with Mark and Laura since the inception of Iroquois Springs and has grown up with Mark through camp since his early years as a camper.

Brian spends the off-season recruiting staff, planning many of our different program offerings, facilitating our pre and post camp user groups and more. His wealth of knowledge and experience in many different areas of camp shines through in every way.

Brian also serves on the steering committee for the Tri-State Camp Association, takes and active role in many committees through the ACA NY Section and is a Standards Visitor for the NY Section.

Our Staff

Our Staff

Our Staff is a very important part of each camper’s summer. The staff at Iroquois Springs has a sincere and deep commitment to the children, are wonderful role models, love kids and are just as excited to be at camp as our campers!

We have both “Activity Specialists,” who focus on instructing in one particular activity area and “Cabin Specialists,” who live and work with the same group of campers for their entire stay at camp. This combination allows campers to receive exceptional instruction in all activities from their Activity Specialists while also sharing their moment-to-moment triumphs and challenges with their Cabin Specialists; who are by their side from wake-up through lights out.
