Why did you decide to work at camp this summer?
I decided to work at camp this summer because of the life changing experience that I had during my first summer at camp (last summer). The enjoyment I got out of being a camp counselor was something that I couldn’t resist experiencing for a second time.
What are you looking to learn from this summer?
I feel like the best things to learn are the things we least expect to learn, but having said that I do want to learn more about how the strength of a close community can help build extremely strong friendships in a short amount of time.
What do you think you can bring to camp this summer which will impact our campers?
I feel as though I can bring certain values with me that will impact my campers positively. For example, I have always been taught about the significance of the value of respect for others. I have always held the opinion that having respect for others is crucial to success in anything so I’m looking forward to teaching my campers this value.
What are you looking forward to most about this summer?
I am most looking forward to getting back out on the lake as a waterski instructor and putting smiles and campers faces all day everyday. I’m also looking forward to seeing old friends and reuniting with everybody.
Tell us an interesting fact/story about yourself!
Something interesting about myself is that when I’m not at camp I work in the seafood industry preparing gourmet seafood, fileting fish and shucking oysters. It’s one of my passions and I love doing it every day!
