Why did you decide to work at camp this summer?
I decided to return to camp this summer because I want to relive another summer like I had last year, but make it even better! I generally had the best time and have the best memories when I look back at camp. I made a lot of new friends that I’m still very close to now (shout out to James, who also wouldn’t let me not return ). I also decided to come back so I can see the campers that I had in my bunk again. They don’t know that I’m coming back, so it will be a nice reunion! I’m also very excited to meet new people!
What are you looking to learn from this summer?
I’m looking to push myself even further out of my comfort zone and challenge myself! Last year I learned to push myself, which proved to me how much I am capable of and that I shouldn’t doubt myself so much! So I can’t wait to come back with the confidence I built up last summer.
What do you think you can bring to camp this summer which will impact our campers?
As a returner now, I think I can appreciate and look forward to all the traditions and events in camp. Looking forward to these things and having the excitement and energy definitely rubs off on your kids and impacts their experience as well. I also hope I can bring a fun, safe and welcoming environment to my bunk and my swimming lessons!
What are you looking forward to most about this summer?
I am looking forward to reuniting with all of the friends that I made last summer! It’s amazing how close you get to people in such a short amount of time! I’m also very excited to expand my friendships to all the new people joining this summer! I’m most excited for college days and color war as I love all the competitiveness there is in camp during these days.
Tell us an interesting fact/story about yourself!
During staff orientation, the Junior division did an activity called “the battle of soccer hill”, where we had to build cardboard forts for a water-balloon fight. One of the other counselors in my division, James, and I decided to build a bus out of the cardboard and proceeded to charge into the other team’s fort while in the bus, singing the wheels on the bus! It made everybody laugh together, despite being on different teams! When it came time for our kids to do this same activity, all of the counselors were able to reminisce on how much fun we all had doing it together during orientation. It was such a full circle to see our campers having just as much fun as we did!
