Position at Camp: Lifeguard / Swim Instructor

Why did you decide to work at camp this summer?

Lots of my friends had been to different camps previously and couldn’t stop talking about how awesome they were, so I knew I had to get involved. 

What are you looking to learn from this summer?

This summer, I am wanting to improve my swim teaching skills as well as learn how to make everyone around me always feel included as that’s part of the magic of camp.

What do you think you can bring to camp this summer which will impact our campers?

This summer I’m excited to bring my humor and previous year’s knowledge back to camp. I enjoy making the kids laugh and because it’s my 2nd year, I feel like I can deal with situations more appropriately as I have the experience behind me. 

What are you looking forward to most about this summer?

I’m mostly looking forward to meeting all the counselors (new and old) to spark lifelong friendships and reunite with previous ones that I haven’t seen in months! I also cannot wait to have better weather than in the UK again. 

Tell us an interesting fact/story about yourself!

I am a big fan of camping and recently a friend and I drove far away to camp in the middle of nowhere. It was only when we had walked an hour from the car in the dark that we realized we had no tent so had to make our own out of trees and branches. Whoops. 🙂
