Getting to Robert Medhurst

Name:
Robert Medhurst

Where are you From: South East London
(Now Living in Surrey)

Years at Camp: 1

Position at Camp: Cabin Specialist

Why did you decide to work at camp this summer?

Last summer I worked at a day camp and I loved that experience so much. I was desperate to do it again, but I wanted to do it on a larger scale, where I would make a bigger difference.

What are you looking to learn from this summer?

I was solely a Ropes Specialist last summer, but this year I will be more of a general counselor, so I’m eager to engage in and learn as many things as possible at Iroquois Springs.

What do you think you can bring to camp this summer which will impact our campers?

I’m never afraid to try something and laugh at myself. Hopefully that mindset can encourage the kids (and counselors!) to give something new a shot. If not, they can laugh at my horrific balancing skills on a paddle board.

What are you looking forward to most about this summer?

Building campers’ character/confidence, making friends, and creating unforgettable memories.

Tell us an interesting fact/story about yourself!

I love musical theater and acting! Most recently I played The Clock (Cogsworth) in my local version of Beauty and the Beast.
